Clarence Dever Bliske passed peacefully into eternal life at his home the morning of July 3rd, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born May 5th, 1940, on the birthday of his grandfather, S. R. Bray, in Deerfield Twp near Wautoma, the middle child of Albert and Dorothy (Bray) Bliske. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Evangelical Lutheran church; attended Woodville one room elementary, graduated from Wautoma HS 1958 and attended Oshkosh Tech.
Clarence met Carol King while working at Red Granite Pickle Factory. They were married August 26th, 1961 at Borth United Methodist Church. They lived in Nekoosa 40 years. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where he was on the Board of Elders. Clarence coached little league, enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, golfing, planting trees and family history. He retired from Nekoosa Papers in 1996 and drove school bus until moving to the Borth area in 2000, Waushara Co, WI. He was president of Borth Trinity Lutheran Church board of elders, member of Poy Sippi Lions, member of the Poy Sippi Township Planning Committee, member of Ducks Unlimited, Wisconsin Waterfowl, Longbeards. He loved sharing his stories about his hunting adventures especially those trips out west with his friends and brothers-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter Carri (Jeff) Bohn and their children, Carleen, Julia and Mason; son Clark (Karan) Bliske and their children, Madeline, Clara and Elijah all of Deerfield, Dane Co, WI. His sister Diane (Ron) Fritz of Oshkosh; sister-in-law, Nona Bliske of Nekoosa; brother-in-law, Fred (Charlene) King of Taycheedah and Gary King of Nekoosa; sister-in-laws Beverly (Richard) Busha of Irma; Joan (Warren) Nieds of Merrill; Robin (James) Dorst of Campbellsport; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded by his parents; brother Bernard; in-laws, Harvey and Dolores (Friedrich) King; and daughter-in-law Missy (Mader) Bliske.
Visitation at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Auroraville on Hwy 49, Sunday July 14th 12:30-2:30 p.m. funeral services will follow. Committal at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Deerfield Twp, Waushara Co, WI. Leikness Funeral Home will be assisting the family. In lieu of flowers a contribution may be made to a memorial fund.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Oshkosh Fox Valley Oncology Clinic as well as Agnesian Hospice Hope staff for their kind care and compassion for Clarence during his battle with prostate cancer.
