Christopher James Cox, 43, of Mt. Morris, passed away unexpectedly early Christmas morning, December 25, 2014 in McHenry, IL. Chris was born in Chicago, IL, to Oren (Butch) and Helen Cox. He lived most of his life in South Florida, were he graduated from Lake Forest High School in Lake Worth. He was a professional house painter for 16 years and relocated to Mt. Morris in 2009, where he dedicated himself to providing excellent care and lasting memories to all the families and guests at Evergreen Campsites and Resort. Chris was a faithful Chicago Bears fan, avid fisherman, enthusiastic bowler and at times a frustrated golfer. He enjoyed campfires under the stars with family and friends. He will be remembered for his infectious smile that went from ear to ear. Chris is survived by his 16 year old daughter, Amanda Marie, who lives with her mother, Christine Lepore, in Ocala, FL; his parents, Helen and Butch Cox, Mt. Morris; two brothers, Timothy Cox, Lake Worth, FL, and Terry Cox, Newberry, FL; and a nephew, Tristan Cox, Lake Worth, FL. Chris is also survived by many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Wisconsin, Illinois, Montana, Virginia, and Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wautoma with Rev. David Greskowiak officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Flowers are very thoughtful. However, if desired, memorials may be given in Chris's name to the family, and a memorial fund will be established for his daughter Amanda's education.
