Charles E. Lamb, age 80, of Hancock, passed away Monday evening, November 21, 2011 at Wild Rose Hospital.
He was born April 29, 1931 in Racine, the son of Charles and Bertha (Wagner) Lamb. Charles was united in marriage to Dorothy Bartram on January 5, 1955 in Westfield.
Charles was stationed in Korea and served his country in the United States Army from 1951 until 1953 where he received numerous service medals. Charles worked for 13 years at Mid State Supply in Wautoma. He later worked for the United States Post Office where he was a Rural Letter Carrier. He belonged to the Hancock American Legion Post #343 and was a member of the Hancock United Church of Christ. Charles was a skilled craftsman and enjoyed woodworking and watching the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed yard work where he tended to many plants. Charles will be fondly remembered for his love of baking and coin collecting, as well as his sense of humor, especially his joke telling. His family meant the world to him and he will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lamb, Hancock; two children, Steven (Kathy) Lamb, Wisconsin Rapids and Kathy Lamb, Plainfield; grandchildren, Stacie Lamb, Tyler Lamb, Kristie Heese, Chuck Heese, Sara (Mike) Fuller and Jen Pelot. He is further survived by his brothers and sister, George Lamb, Jerry (Sue) Lamb and Dorothy Morrow, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rachel Lamb, Patricia Lamb, Ethel Lamb, James (Carol) Bartram, Carol (Jim) Grundy, Diane Hill and Don Bartram; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Alfred, Earl, Paul and Clarence, two sisters Alma and Francis and two brothers-in-law Bob Hill and Marvin Morrow.
Funeral Services for Mr. Charles E. Lamb will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00am in Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield with Rev. Yul Kwon officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Hancock Cemetery.
Relatives and Friends may call on Friday at the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of services at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the Hancock Community Center are appreciated.
