Charles R. "Chuck", "Charlie" Kluge, 78 of Hancock, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 29, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Tomah.
He was born on September 22, 1933 in Neenah, the son of Theodore and Marie Stielow Kluge. He was married to Anna Kahrs on April 10, 1955.
Charles served in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Wisconsin. He worked at the George Banta Company in Menasha for 36 years and started the Auto Gazette in 1979. He served on the Board of Directors for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, the Board of Directors at Camp LuWiSoMo, the Battleship Wisconsin Association, and the Plainfield VFW. He was chairman of Grace Lutheran Church of Hancock for many years and was an avid Brewer, Packer, NASCAR and Wisconsin Badger fan.
Charles is survived by his wife, Anna, children, Kim D. (Dianne) Kluge of Hoffman Estates, IL; Kevin P. Kluge of Pulaski; Kay A. (David) Wright of Sturtevant; and Karin B. (Jay) Paulinski of Oswego, IL. Grandchildren are Rebecca Kluge, Phoenix, AZ; Kelly Kluge, Atlanta, GA; Robert (Amy) Eastham, Milwaukee; Richard Eastham, Milwaukee; Kyle Eastham, Jacksonville, FL; Christopher Wright, Sturtevant; Lindsay Paulinski, Oswego, IL and Alexis Paulinski, Oswego; 5 great-grandchildren from Milwaukee and Florida; one brother Rev. David (Sharon) of Lyons, IL and one sister Christine (Bill) Franksville; family in Christ at Grace Lutheran Church, neighbors and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00am in Grace Lutheran Church, Township of Deerfield with Rev. Dale W. Bahls officiating. Burial will take place in Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 9:30am until the time of services at the Church.
