Charles G. Ahlborn Sr., age 78, of Hancock, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born Aug. 26, 1933 in Minocqua, the son of Charles and Elenora (Sorrel) Ahlborn. He married Muriel J. Droste on Nov. 2, 1973 in West Allis. Charles served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed at McGraw-Edison Manufacturing in South Milwaukee. Later, he worked as a maintenance welder at AC Spark Plug in Oak Creek for many years until his retirement in 1995, at which time he and his wife moved to rural Hancock. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he loved hunting, going for ATV rides, and taking his grandchildren fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Muriel J. Ahlborn, Hancock; five children, Charles (Traci) Ahlborn, Big Bend, Jeff (Debbie) Ahlborn, Oak Creek, Brenda (Scott) Landowski, Greenfield, Darren (Jamie) Ahlborn, Waukesha, Rick (Dawn) Ahlborn, Oak Creek; 11 grand- children; five great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Carole) Ahlborn, Cudahy; five sisters, Beverly Butero, Cudahy, Beatrice Buddinger, Park Falls, Mary Benkowski, Babcock, Caroline Paul, Weyauwega, and Donna Ahlborn, Babcock; two sisters-in-law, Norene Ahlborn, Hancock, Sandy Rasmussen, Babcock. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William Ahlborn, Norman Ahlborn, and Robert Rasmussen; one sister, Bonnie Stillman. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. at Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home in Plainfield with Rev. Eric L. Hambrock officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Hancock Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. A Memorial is being established.
