Bonnie J. Garrigan, age 37, of Nekoosa, formerly of Plainfield, passed away Wednesday morning, April 27, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born November 1, 1973 in Wisconsin Rapids, the daughter of Merl and Joyce (Ellis) Hansen. She married Kevin A. Garrigan on December 3, 1999.
Bonnie graduated from Tri-County High School in 1991 and continued her education at UW Stevens Point where she earned her bachelors degree. She was employed at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation as a receptionist. Bonnie was a talented musician and in 1996 became the lead singer for the Austin Healey Band. She had a great love for family, friends, camping and snowmobiling.
She is survived by her husband, Kevin A. Garrigan, Nekoosa; two children, Keagan and Kelsey Garrigan, at home; her parents, Merl and Joyce Hansen, Wisconsin Rapids; her brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Jean) Hansen, Wisconsin Rapids, Brenda (Dennis) Gerard, Wisconsin Rapids, Keith (Janet) Hansen, Wisconsin Rapids, Kevin (Penny) Hansen, Kansas City, KS.;Barbara (Wayne) Challoner, Copper Center, Alaska; her mother-in-law, Elaine Garrigan, Mauston; further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the funeral. In lieu of flowers a memorial in Bonnie's name has been established.
