Betty May Nimphius, age 86, of Neshkoro, passed away Sunday morning, October 7, 2012, at Wild Rose Manor. She was born May 22, 1926 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Frank and Christine (Nikolschuetz) Joyce. She began sharing her life with Ferdinand "Red" Nimphius on September 17, 1951. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1999. During Betty's life with Ferd, she displayed the ultimate love and commitment to her husband and family. She had an endless energy in all she did. Betty juggled bookkeeping, cooking, the numerous activities of her children, as well as countless additional acts of love throughout her day. Her concern for the needs of others always came first. These marvelous characteristics of Betty were displayed throughout her latter years as a grandma and a resident at a care facility. She is survived by seven children, Ferdinand J. (Pam) Nimphius Sr., Elisabeth C. (Frank) Bacchian, Barbara J. (Marc) Sellenheim, Lauri A. (Paul) Wagner, Alex E. (Linda) Nimphius, Mary L. (John) Horrocks, and Joy E. (Jeff) Moore; nine grand- children, April, Betty May, Rachel, Leah, Hannah, Cole, Randy, Alexis, and Briana; one sister, Judith (Dan) Ott. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Ferdinand J. Nimphius Jr.; one brother, Franklin Joyce; son-in-law, Robert Osburn; daughter-in-law, Linda Bei. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Crystal Lake) with the Rev. Blaine O. Niskanen officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. The family of Betty Nimphius wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at Harris Villa for the new friendships that began during her stay there. A very special thank you to everyone (staff and residents a like) at Wild Rose Manor. The past four years of her life were filled with countless acts of love and friendship by each and every person she came to know. God bless Hospice Care for helping Betty's final days be filled with the comfort and peace of God's love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to a charity of their choice in Betty's name.
