Barbara Jean Sellenheim, age 57, of Wautoma, died suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
She was born Nov. 27, 1958 in Berlin, the daughter of Ferdinand R. and Betty May (Joyce) Nimphius. She married Marc Sellenheim on July 18, 1997.
Barb was the third of seven children born and raised in Neshkoro. Her parents operated Nimphius Boats of rural Neshkoro. She was a graduate of Westfield High School and attended Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. She worked in printing at Tech Graphics in Neenah for several years. Later,she moved back to the rural Wautoma area. She worked in the family business where she met her husband and love of her life, Marc.
Barb was employed as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service most recently, and was the bookkeeper at Willow Grove Woodworking. She loved all aspects of nature; birds, insects, gardening (flowers and vegetables), animals, and trees. She spent as much time as
possible outdoors doing a variety of activities including gardening and taking walks. She was not fond of shopping and only did it when she had to. She found the silver lining in every situation. Family was very important to her life and she will be greatly missed by her husband, Marc Sellenheim; her daughter, Betty Sellenheim (friend Rich Pinkall); her siblings, Ferdinand J. (Pam) Nimphius Sr.; Lauri A. (Paul) Wagner; Alex (Linda) Nimphius; Mary L. (John) Horrocks; Joy E. (Jeff) Moore and cousin, Michael (Sharon) Bloom She is further survived by other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, many dear friends, and her pets, Bell and KC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by one sister, Elisabeth C. Bacchian; and uncle George and Aunt Bea Bloom.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at West Holden Lutheran Church, County Road MM, Wautoma.
Visitation will be held on Monday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in her memory.
