Arlyn J. Heath, age 80, of Bancroft, passed away early Sunday morning, April 15, 2012 at Portage County Health Care Center.
He was born in Milwaukee on June 12, 1931, the son of Fred and Helen (Stevenson) Heath. He married Marie Hotchkiss on January 22, 1955 in Plainfield Baptist Church. She preceded him in death on June 2, 2011.
Arlyn proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his service, he was a mill worker for most of his life. Arlyn and his wife Marie enjoyed traveling across country to find antiques, especially fruit jars that he would add to his collection. He also enjoyed hunting, taking care of his horses and bird watching. His caring, generous heart and sense of humor will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by four sons, Bradley(Becky) Heath, Plainfield; Bruce (Barb) Heath, Wisconsin Rapids; Robert (Linda) Heath, Wisconsin Rapids and Steve (fiancée Michelle Hansen) Heath, Hancock; five grandchildren, Brad Gonzales, Bruce Heath, Travis Heath, Shannon Heath and Mason Heath. He is further survived by one sister, Audrey Lenz, Milwaukee; one brother-in-law Leroy (Kathy) Hotchkiss, Bancroft; two sisters-in-law Carol Clendenning, North Freedom and Janice Hotchkiss, Bancroft; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son Bryan Lee and one nephew Patrick Lee Hotchkiss.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11:00am in the Leikness & Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield with Pastor Jeffrey Silha officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors in Pine Grove Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30am until the time of services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
