Arlon Marks, age 86, of Wautoma passed away on April 3rd, 2025 at Theda Care Hospital in Wild Rose. He was born in Wautoma, Wisconsin on May 15th 1938. He is the son of Reuben and Violet Marks. Arlon married Mary Lou McCrorey on September 24th, 1961.
He graduated from Wautoma High School in 1956. After High School, Arlon joined the Berlin Army National Guard. He worked at the family farm, Marks Brothers Pickle Company, and eventually ran his own farm after his service in the National Guard.
Arlon enjoyed hunting during his younger years. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying and building airplanes. He raced and built go-carts and snowmobiles and later built an off-road race truck. After he stopped farming the big fields, he grew beautiful flowers and vegetables in his yard. His love for farming and growing continued even after he retired. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou, his three sons Michael (Michelle), David, Loran (Lucinda), his grandchildren Malachi (Hannah), Matthew (Emily), Michael (Sadie), Meaghan, Marcus, Lacey (Kevin), Lucas (Elizet), his great grandchildren William, Madeline, Melany, Abigail, Tanner, Elaina, Cohen, Leah, Lucas, Evan, his brother Gordon Marks, his sister Janet Smith, sister-in-law Judy Marks and further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents Reuben and Violet, his brother Russell Marks, his sisters-in-law Bernice Marks, Ruth Krueger, Georgia Ann Kiernan, Marge McCrorey, his brothers-in-law Carol Smith, Harvey Krueger, Jim Kiernan, and Joseph McCrorey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Crossroads Family Church in Wautoma from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Wautoma Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Arlon’s memory.
