Albert G. (for “gorgeous” as he liked to say) Schmidt Jr, was a dear man of great intellect, talent, humor and heart, but above all, wisdom to discern that all was meaningless apart from his Lord and Savior.
He lived and died on May 1, 2017 in that unwavering faith. He’s home. Carol, his wife of 38 cherished years, along with family and friends, eagerly anticipate a blessed heavenly reunion. A private worship service of praise and thanksgiving for God’s saving grace and abiding love for Al will be held under the direction of Pastor Gregory Sluke at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Berlin.
If you knew and loved Al, say a prayer of thanksgiving for having shared in the blessing and inspiration that he has been to so many these past 86 marvelous years. Now gathered with the saints in heaven, he most assuredly continues to sing: “To God be the Glory.”
“And when from death I’m free,
I’ll sing His love for me,
And through eternity, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on.”
