Alan James Luebben, age 70 of Wautoma died suddenly on Friday, December 4, 2020. He was born in Appleton on July 22, 1950 to Russell and Marian (Rehlender) Luebben. Al graduated from Appleton West High School and UW Oshkosh. In 1979 he married Mary Schneiderwent in Berlin. Al spent his life in banking and was involved in local civic groups, including: Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Rotary Club, Kiwanis, Performing Arts Center and Salvation Army where he served in leadership position and board member. Al was also a member of Hope Lutheran Church and served on the council in the 90’s and at present time. He loved to make people laugh and had a way of connecting to everyone he met. Most of all, Al loved family and cherished his time with his grandson, Charlie. He was an avid reader, sheepshead card player and enjoyed time in the woods and time with friends. He will be sadly missed.
Al is survived by his wife: Mary Luebben; sons: Justin (Amanda) Luebben, Wauwatosa, Ryan Luebben, Scottsdale, AZ; grandson Charles “Charlie” Luebben; brother: Richard “Rick” (Dianne) Luebben, Goodyear, AZ; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parentsand a sister: Nancy Luebben.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held next summer. Family funeral services will be held at Hope Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hope Lutheran Church in Al’s name.
